Summary of rental terms:
- The hired equipment is for the lessee’s personal use in the area of Saariselkä and Ivalo unless otherwise agreed.
- If the lessee transports the equipment, the lessee is responsible for ensuring an appropriate transport method.
- The lessee is responsible for handling the hired equipment with care and in a way that they do not get damaged or lost.
- No markings can be made to the hired equipment, and no parts are allowed to be removed and detached.
- If the equipment requires any repair measures or any damage is caused to them:
- the lessee is responsible for informing the lessor
- bringing them to the lessor for repair
- any small measures to be carried out in the terrain may be carried out by the lessee (e.g., repair of a punctured tyre). Any completed measures must be informed to the lessor.
- The equipment must be returned no later than by the end of the rental period.
- If the lessee wishes to extend the rental period, this must be agreed upon with the lessor before the end of the rental period.
- If the lessee returns the equipment late, the lessor may charge additional rent for them until returning them.
- The lessee is liable to pay compensation for any damages caused by lost, damaged or stolen equipment in accordance with the fair value/price of the repair.
1 RENTAL TERMS
1.1 These rental terms apply to consumers (Lessee) and eBikeRental.fi Oy (3262704- 3), (Lessor) as well as eBikeRental.fi Oy’s staff.
2 LESSOR’S RESPONSIBILITY
2.1 The Lessor is responsible for the condition of the equipment hired from the equipment hire. 2.2 The Lessor is not responsible for any such damages, caused by a factor or event beyond the Lessor’s influence, which the Lessor has not reasonably been able to take into account when exercising the rental operations.
3 RENTAL AGREEMENT
3.1 A written agreement shall be concluded for the hire of equipment, and the agreement shall indicate at least the following: – Lessor’s name and contact details – Lessee’s name, address, phone number – equipment to be hired – any wear and tear present on the equipment to be hired – rental period – rental price to be charged – Lessor’s and Lessee’s acceptance reference to applicable contractual terms
3.2 In the case of a group, the agreement can be concluded as one agreement for the entire group. The agreement must include at least the Lessor’s and company’s names, contact details, and each lessee’s name. The group leader’s details shall be logged as the Lessee’s personal and contact details. The group leader shall sign the agreement on behalf of the lessees. In addition, the rental period and rental price shall be indicated in the agreement.
3.3 The Lessee shall leave a photo ID at the equipment hire for the duration of the rental period as a deposit.
3.3.1 Alternatively, a charge made to a credit card can be used as a deposit, which amounts to 800 EUR / bike and shall be returned at the end of the rental period
4 VERIFICATION OF THE LESSEE’S IDENTITY
4.1 The Lessee is responsible for proving their identity.
5 USE OF HIRE EQUIPMENT
5.1 After accepting the rental agreement, the lessee shall have the right to the personal use of the hired equipment in the area of Saariselkä and Ivalo. The Lessee shall not provide the leased equipment to any third party or transport them outside the previously mentioned areas unless otherwise agreed. 5.2 If the Lessee transports the equipment, the lessee is responsible for ensuring an appropriate transport method.
6 LESSEE AND LESSOR’S RESPONSIBILITY
6.1 The Lessee is responsible for handling the hired equipment with care and in a way that they do not get damaged or lost.
6.2 No markings can be made to the hired equipment, and no parts are allowed to be removed and detached.
6.3 If the equipment requires any repair measures, the Lessee must bring them to the Lessor for repair. The Lessee may carry out any small measures to be carried out in the terrain (e.g., repair of a punctured tyre or a snapped wire). Any completed measures must be informed to the Lessor.
6.4 The Lessor is responsible for ensuring that the hired helmets meet the requirements set out in legislation concerning personal protective equipment.
7 MEASURES IN THE CASE OF FAULTY, DAMAGED AND STOLEN EQUIPMENT
7.1 The Lessee is responsible for informing the Lessor without delay about the loss or destruction of equipment, any damages caused to the equipment and/or any faults observed in the equipment.
7.2 In case of theft, the Lessee must file a report with the police.
8 LESSEE’S LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES
8.1 The Lessee is liable to pay compensation for any damages caused by lost, damaged or stolen equipment in accordance with the fair value/price of the repair,
8.2 The Lessor shall inform the Lessee of any visually observed damages to the equipment in connection with returning the equipment or, without delay, after the Lessor has observed the damage.
8.3 Maintenance price list: If the bike is damaged, the Lessee shall be liable to pay for damages according to the following price list:

8.4 For unrepairable, lost or stolen hire equipment, in accordance with their fair value.
8.5 The Lessor is not liable for damages concerning equipment’s normal wear and tear.
9 RENTAL PRICE
9.1 The rental price is paid in connection with hiring or booking the equipment.
9.2 The rental price is based on the used time or previously agreed price, which is indicated in the price list and included in the rental agreement.
10 PAYMENT
10.1 Payment on-site a) Payment methods accepted by the equipment hire include Finnish debit cards, Visa Debit/Credit/Electron, Maestro, JCB, and MasterCard. The rental price cannot be paid in cash! b) Only one discount or offer can be used for each rental period.
10.2 Payment online By using the Visma Pay service, you can pay using your online banking credentials, e- wallet, payment cards (credit/debit), invoice or instalments. The following payment methods are accepted: Osuuspankki, Nordea, Danske Bank, Oma Säästöpankki, Säästöpankki, Aktia, Paikallisosuuspankit, S-Pankki, Handelsbanken, Ålandsbanken, MobilePay, Masterpass, Pivo, Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Debit MasterCard cards, as well as Jousto and Enterpay Invoice for companies. MobilePay: You can use your MobilePay wallet to pay if you have accepted payment at online stores in the application’s settings. Payments with a MobilePay wallet are charged from the payment card linked to the wallet. If charging the payment from the payment card is unsuccessful, payment with a MobilePay wallet is not possible in online stores. 11 MAKING A BOOKING AND CANCELLATION TERMS
Bookings are made on our website using the booking engine. The customer will receive an email confirmation about the booking to the email address they have provided.
11.1 Bookings can be cancelled for free up to 7 days before the start of the booking. If the booking is cancelled 3 days before the start of the rental period, 50% of the total booking value shall be refunded. If the booking is cancelled 3-0 days before the start of the rental period, no refunds shall be issued. You can cancel a booking by calling us or sending an email to asiakaspalvelu@ebikerental.fi
12 VALUE-ADDED TAX
All the euro amounts indicated in these rental terms and the price list include the prevailing value-added tax.
13 RETURNING EQUIPMENT
13.1 The equipment must be returned no later than the end of the rental period.
13.2 If the Lessee wishes to extend the rental period, this must be agreed with the Lessor before the end of the rental period.
13.3 If the Lessee returns the equipment late, the Lessor shall charge additional rent for them until returning them.
14 LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES CAUSED TO THE LESSEE OR A THIRD PARTY
14.1 By accepting the rental agreement, the Lessee confirms that they are aware of the risks concerning the relevant form of leisure and the use of the hired equipment. 14.2 Otherwise, the Lessee is liable for any damages caused to themselves or third parties in accordance with the general principles and legislation concerning damages compensation.
15 DISPUTES
The contractual terms in their original language shall apply in case of disputes.
15.1 EU citizens Disputes shall be primarily settled in negotiations between the Lessee and Lessor. Suppose the parties cannot come to a mutual understanding about compensation. In that case, the Lessee may refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board(www.kuluttajariita.fi) to be resolved or file a claim at the district court of their domicile. Before referring the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board, the Lessee must contact the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s Consumer Advisory Services (www.kuluttajaneuvonta.fi). If the Lessor files a claim, this must be made to the court of first instance at the domicile of the Lessee who lives in the EU area.
15.2 Citizens of non-EU countries Disputes shall be primarily settled in negotiations between the Lessee and Lessor.
Disputes between a consumer residing in a non-EU country and the Lessor shall be settled at the district court of the service provider’s domicile.
